At the launch we focused on the following areas:
• Children, young people and families • Older generation • Homelessness • Arun Angels
In a follow-up meeting with the Police Sergeant at Littlehampton Police Station we talked about some of the issues that are ongoing. The issues raised from a police perspective are:
• Anti-social behaviour • Under-age drinking • Car theft • Night time economy • Minor criminal damage • Shoplifting • Drugs • Vehicle crime
From that conversation we started to look at the next phase of the initiative which is the ROC CONVERSATIONS EVENING. This is an evening when we bring together members of the local community, churches, police, fire and rescues service, council and others. It’s where we ask the questions, such as:
• What are the issues that are facing your community today? • What do you want your community to look like in the future? • What could be done better through working together? • How do we take the next step?
So, book the date in your diary – THURSDAY 8th DECEMBER at 7.30 – 9.30p.m. at THE WICKBOURNE CENTRE, CLUN ROAD, LITTLEHAMPTON.
